Curriculum Highlights

Research Backed

Built on Sport for Life’s Long-Term Development framework — a nationally recognized model that supports lifelong physical activity through age-appropriate, stage-based skill development.

Develops Physical Literacy

Curriculum focuses on the building blocks of physical literacy - fundamental movement skills - taught in a progressive format. Building balance, coordination, object control, and so much more.

Play based Learning

Each class is centred around play and is designed to engage imaginations through creative themes - like jungle safaris or space adventures - so kids fall in love with movement.

Whole Child Approach

Our curriculum goes beyond movement - it is designed to develop physical strength, confidence, and character (with intentional resilience, kindness, and responsibility building elements).

Predictable Class Format

Every class follows the same format, giving kids comfort in what to expect while supporting steady, progressive skill growth.

Affirmations & Warm-Up

Kids gather with coaches to hear about the theme for the class and build confidence through our Play Strong Kids positive affirmations. Themed stretches, movement drills and animal walks will wake the body.

Skill Development

One spotlight skill (i.e., balance, jumping, catching) is the focus for each session. A mix of games will help kids master the skill.

Obstacle
Course

Kids will work their way through the weekly obstacle course, designed to test resilience and build confidence. They will build strength while working on a broad range of movement skills.

Fun &
Games

Kid are introduced to classic childhood games that they will inevitably encounter in the schoolyard or the park, if they haven't already. Kids will get stronger while also learning social and emotional skills like cooperation and teamwork.

Wrap
Up

We gather together, stretch, and share highlights about the class. Kids receive a sticker and a Play Strong Kids jumping HIGH five to end the class.
